After School Student Improvement Programs are the Answer!

ATTENTION EDUCATORS!

Can you identify students that need help with the Ontario Curriculum?

Are there grade 7 and 8 students in your school, struggling with reading, writing and math?

Do you want your students to improve?
Of course you do, we all do. And thats why Community and Continuing Education is proud to be working with all Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board elementary and secondary schools by offering powerful after school programs.

Our unique after school curriculums are 10 week modular programs that assist grade 7-12 students struggling with literacy and numeracy.

These specially designed programs offer strategies that enhance the skills and performance of HWDSB students who need extra support as they progress through the Ontario Curriculum.

Our CCE Student Improvement Programs have tremendous success with improving the academic skills of struggling students.

With after school remediation programs, students will improve in the following areas:

Reading Writing Math  French Literacy (Literacy en Francais for immersion students) OSSLT Preparation Program (Grade 10 Literacy Test Preparation)  We help you - help students.

How does it work?

We have developed 4 programs to help improve students:

After School Literacy
Improve reading and writing skills.

After School Numeracy
Improve mathematics skills.

OSSLT Preparation
Grade 10 Literacy Test preparation.

Literacy en Francais
French Immersion Students

Each program consists of 10 sessions. Each class is an hour and a half and runs outside of the regular school day. The programs are available all year from September through June.

How do we get started?

The principal, in consultaion with teachers and parents, will identify students eligible for Remediation Programs.

NOTE:
After School student improvement programs are dependent upon securing sufficient student enrolment in classes.

After School Programs FREE
 
CCE Remediation Programs are ministry funded and support the day school program by offering after school or summer instruction that is explicit, focused and targeted where students can improve their literacy and numeracy skills in an innovative environment.

Principals and Vice-Principals along with staff work closely with CCE to determine how to best take advantage of these valued learning opportunities for our HWDSB students.

CCE offers thanks and appreciation to all HWDSB educators who access the numerous modules and wishes them continued success as we strive for improved student performance and positive relationships together.
