Independent Study
The bridge between Education & Daily Life.
Independent Study (ILC) courses allow students to work at their own pace. Students are able to decide when and where to study, and have added flexibility of starting and finishing a course at any time of the year. ILC credits are available in the new curriculum (OSS).
The length of time to complete a course varies from student to student. A full credit course takes approximately 16 weeks to complete.
Can I take Independent Study courses?
Independent Study courses are available to you if:
- You are 18 years or older and have been out of school for one year.
- You are 16 - 18 years of age and have written approval of the Principal of your current school.

Once enrolled in an Independent Study course, you must complete and submit the first Unit of each course within the first month (4 weeks).
If you do not submit lessons for a 12 week period, then you will be moved to "Archived" status. To return to "Active" status, you must re-register and pay a new processing fee of $35.00.
