What is the Literacy and Basic Skills program?
LBS is a non-credit employment preparation and academic upgrading program for adults.
The LBS Program focusses on job readiness and academic upgrading.
For job readiness, students learn essent
ial literacy skills including reading, writing and numeracy instruction to enhance employability.
Students geared more towards academic upgrading will focus on reading, writing and numeracy to prepare for further education in a credit or GED program.
Individualized programs and instruction are the keys to success!
The LBS program is a self paced learning program where students feel comfortable in small class sizes. Each program is individualized and tailored to meet the specific needs of the student.
Classes are individually taught by certified teachers which means students find it easier to learn and progress. Students learn the fundamentals of education including Pre-High School levels of Literacy and Numeracy.
What are the LBS Registration Fees?
Literacy and Basic Skills classes are FREE!
When do LBS classes start?
Enrolment to the Literacy and Basic Skills classes is continuous throughout the school year (September to June).
Classes are held Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm AND Monday to Thursday 5:00 to 9:00 pm at CCE King William Learning Centre
