This program has been designed for adults who require assistance in developing communication skills in English.

Classes are available at different levels of proficiency from literacy to advanced and focus on the development of listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and writing skills to allow participants to pursue and achieve their educational goals.

Learning English is the key to success in Canada!

Who can take ESL classes?

ESL classes are provided for refugees, landed immigrants, Canadian citizens and visitors who are 18 years of age or older.

Where are ESL classes held?

ESL programs are available at the following five CCE Learning Centres.

When are ESL classes held?

ESL classes are available at different times so that it is easier for you to learn.

  • Day programs
    Classes run from Monday to Friday - 9:00AM to 11:45AM and from 12:15PM to 3:00PM.

  • Evening programs
    Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

  • Evening program at MacMaster University
    Classes run on Monday's and Wednesday's from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

How much do ESL classes cost?

Our ESL programs are FREE for landed immigrants, refugees and citizens.
* Plus a $10 materials fee

Visa Students and visitors to Canada are able to take ESL classes at the following rates:

  • Full Time $70.00 per week
  • Part Time $50.00 per week
  • Evenings $25.00 per week
